Raw chocolate tacos might sound a little adventurous for your typical Taco Tuesday night meal, but trust us your taste buds are going to thank you for branching out into this new raw dessert. Sure the words “chocolate” and “tacos” are not ordinarily used in the same recipe, however Raw on 10 has proven elsewise with their delicious raw creation that will melt in your mouth every bite of this dessert.

So the next time it’s “Taco Tuesday” grab this raw chocolate taco recipe and enjoy the combination of flax seeds, bananas and raw cacao powder paired with homemade raw banana ice cream!

Raw Chocolate Tacos

Recipe Ingredients:

Taco Shells:

1/2 Cup Ground Flax Seeds
1/2 Cup Water
2 Ripe Bananas
4 Tablespoons Cacao Elixir Powder
Pinch of Salt

Banana Ice Cream:

4 Bananas
4 Tablespoons Cacao Elixir Powder
Pinch of Salt

Nut Cream:

1/2 Cup Raw Nuts
1/4 Cup Water
1 Tablespoon Raw Agave Nectar
1/2 Teaspoons Canilla
Pinch of Salt

Raw Chocolate Sauce:

2 Tablespoons Cacao Elixir Powder
2 Tablespoons Raw Agave Nectar
2 Tablespoons Raw Coconut Oil
Hand full of chopped raw walnuts and organic strawberries

Recipe Directions:

1. Taco Shells:
Use finely ground flax seed and soak in water for about twenty minutes, until gooey. In a food processor puree the bananas until smooth. Add in the soaked flax and salt and process briefly. Spread in eight circles on lined dehydrator trays. Let dehydrate for about an hour, until dry to the touch on the side facing up. Flip and peel the sheet away. Let dry another couple hours. Then, gently fold in half. Use a twisted piece of wax paper to make a brace to hold the taco shell slightly open. Let dry this way for another couple hours. Let cool to room temperature.

2. Banana Ice Cream:
Make the banana ice cream. Combine all the ingredients in the food processor and puree until very smooth. Then put in an ice cream maker (or freezer) and process until like soft serve.

3. Nut Ice Cream:
The nut cream is just the ingredients pureed in a bullet type blender until smooth. Refrigerate. It will thicken the longer it cools.

4. Chocolate Sauce: 
Combine all ingredients for the raw chocolate sauce and stirred together. Note: the coconut oil helps make a hard chocolatey shell.

5. To assemble, spoon the ice cream into the shells, add a teaspoon of nut cream, a few walnuts and strawberries with a drizzle of raw chocolate sauce.

6. Dish out and enjoy!
